Founder of the Film Festival Group

Mitch Levine is the founder of The Film Festival Group, a global consulting firm for filmmakers, festivals, distribution companies and the independent film world. He served as Executive Director and CEO of the Palm Springs International Film Festivals and co-created and produced the first two editions of First Time Fest in New York (featuring Martin Scorsese, Darren Aronofsky, Julie Taymor, Michael Moore, Peter Bogdanovich,  Sophia Coppola, Robert De Niro and many more). He just produced and moderated the Refugee Voices in Film Conference at the Cannes Film Festival. He produced the first Bahamas International Film Festival, the first International Emerging Talent Film Festival in Monaco and served for many years as the Production Director of the AFI and LA Film Festivals. Mitch has written, produced and directed tributes to many of the world’s greatest cinema artists, directed the Spirit of Independence Award for Film Independent and was the founding producer and host of the AFI’s Great Filmmakers series. He teaches directing at the School of Film and Television of Loyola Marymount University and provides extensive editorial consulting to producers and filmmakers and helps design festival, market, acquisition and distribution strategies for their films.

Mitch is a member of BAFTA and was a Fellow at the American Film Institute and the Juilliard School. His Holocaust drama SHADOWS won awards around the globe. He directed the films IN CONFIDENCE (Cannes 2015), HUNGRY IS THE TIGER and MORPHING GRAVITY. Mitch was Artistic Supervisor of the opera EINSTEIN ON THE BEACH, collaborated with Peter Gabriel and Moses Pendleton on the mixed-media/dance work PASSION and has directed stage productions around the world. For many years, he was Production Director of MOMIX Dance Theatre and a Special Representative to the United Nations
