Veronica Falcon stars as Camila Vargas in USA network’s drama QUEEN OF THE SOUTH.
Born in Mexico City, Falcon is considered one of the most versatile and talented actors of her generation with a prolific career that expands for almost three decades in theatre, film and television. She’s performed in more than twenty films, countless television shows, thirty theater productions and several short films, working with some of the most respected directors of her country. In television she has worked in some of the most successful television series produced for the Hispanic market.
An exceptional choreographer as well, Falcon choreographed several productions for Mexico's acclaimed National Opera Company. In 1999, she founded her own theater company that held performances in Berlin and Mexico. A spokesperson for the Global Theater Project "Microteatro" in Mexico, her play "Afrodita al Sol" was selected for a highly competitive Mexico run, then was nominated by the audience as one of the Best Plays of the Project with a Miami run.
Nominated in 2014 by Mexico´s Film Critics Association (PECIME) for a “Silver Goddess Award” as Best Supporting Actress in a Film for the role of “La Diabla” in Carlos Cuaron´s “Besos de Azúcar,” Falcon continues to add accolades to her repertoire. One of the first important film roles for her career was “La Madrina” a powerful pivotal role in Everardo Gout´s critically acclaimed film “Days of Grace.” The film won seven Mexican Academy awards and established Falcón as one of the strongest actors in the industry.
She has written three plays and a short film, she has been published as an author as well in the respected film Mexican magazine, Toma 5. Mrs. Falcon has co-produced several creative projects and served as creative consultant for many more. She has a Teacher´s Degree in English, speaks semi-fluent German and French.
She recently relocated to Los Angeles, California where she currently lives with her husband, Polish actor-director, Marius Biegai and their son, Lucca.
