#FemaleTVDirectors - June 22 @ 4 PM - Latino Lens Space 

Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, queer-identified Xicana filmmaker Aurora Guerrero directed shorts Pura Lengua (Sundance 2005) and Viernes Girl (HBO 2005); as well as assisting film directors Patricia Cardoso (Real Women Have Curves) and Peter Bratt (La Mission). Guerrero wrote and directed Mosquita Y Mari, her debut narrative feature film. Since premiering at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, Mosquita Y Mari traveled top-tier U.S and international film festivals including San Francisco, Melbourne, Goteburg, Sao Paolo, and Guadalajara garnering multiple awards. In 2013 Mosquita y Mari was nominated for a John Cassavetes Spirit Award and a GLAAD Media Award. More recently, Guerrero directed for television including Ava Duvernay's Queen Sugar and Craig Wright's Greenleaf.
