Dani Fernandez spent much of her youth bouncing between Southern California and Texas. As an awkward teenager, her afterschool hours consisted of writing nerdy fanfiction and obsessing over anime shows with her two brothers. After graduating from the University of Texas, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in writing. She started freelance work doing on-camera hosting for the largest US anime distributor Funimation at San Diego Comic Con and has gone on to host and write for channels such as Nerdist, Geek & Sundry, Machinima, HyperRPG, Mental Floss, and How Stuff Works. She has written and performed at The Comedy Store’s Roast Battle, The Historical Roast at Meltdown, Tournament of Nerds at the Upright Citizens Brigade and Cracked.com LIVE. She has also been a panelist multiple times at San Diego Comic Con, LA Comic Con, and WonderCon discussing the importance of Latinx representation in comic books and film.
