Best known for his signature home run call “¡no… nono, nono, no…! ¡Dígale que no a esa pelota!”, Ernesto Jerez, is an Emmy-award winning veteran sports broadcaster who serves as play-by-play announcer for ESPN Deportes’ coverage of Major League Baseball, a position he has held since 1995. Jerez has called thousands of games for ESPN, including every Major League Baseball All-Star Game since 1997, every World Series since 1998 and ESPN Deportes’ coverage of World Baseball Classic in 2006, 2009, 2013 and 2017. In addition to MLB duties, Jerez is also the play-by-play commentator for ESPN’s Spanish-language telecast of the NBA. Jerez attended Pontificia Universidad Cátolica Madre in the Dominican Republic, graduating in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in business. In 1995, he graduated from the Northeast Broadcast School, currently the Massachusetts School of Communications, in Boston.
