The Big Leap: Building a Successful Career in Entertainment
Jodi Delaney has been executive director of the Television Academy Foundation since 2017. She oversees daily operations and leads Foundation programs and initiatives to fulfill the charitable organization's mission to identify, advance and empower future television leaders. The Television Academy Foundation’s primary focus is advancing diversity in television through its programs offering access and training to the next generation of content creators.
During Delaney’s tenure, the Foundation’s renowned Internship Program, College Television Awards and Faculty Conference have grown 42%, with the annual Internship Program now serving over 70% women and 80% BIPOC students. The Foundation also continues to advance its “The Power of TV” public program series which examines the medium’s power to advance social concerns and increase representation of marginalized communities on television.
An executive with 20 years' experience in nonprofit, government, and private sector management and development, Delaney has supervised high-profile initiatives in entertainment, environmental conservation, economic development and social services throughout her career.
