Maria Victoria Ponce is a Bay Area writer/director and SFFILM fellow and Rainin Grant recipient. Ponce’s short film Ruda was an official selection of FICM, Urbanworld, and Femme Frontera. She is on the Black List's inaugural Latinx list. Ponce is a Cine Qua Non Lab 2018 fellow, a NALIP Latino Media Market fellow, a Latino Screenwriting Project fellow, and an SFFILM FilmHouse 2018 and 2019 artist resident. She was one of five finalists for Tribeca/AT&T Untold Stories 2019 and selected to participate in Film Independent’s Fast Track. Her latest projects include writing the feature-length script Hella Aqua Net, thriller/horror short Easter Hill, and comedy short Death & Deathability. Death & Deathability was awarded a PBS Latino Experience grant. Her feature script in development, Washing Elena, was just selected as a participant in 2021 WIF x Sundance Institute Financing Intensive.
