Latino Media Market: Executive Meetings • (Restricted Access. By Invitation Only)
Day Two of the Latino Media Market: Industry executives take meetings from selected participants to pitch their documentary, low-budget feature, TV or digital web series idea in order to secure completion funds or distribution.
This panel will highlight academics who have actively been fighting to make a change by researching topics related to underrepresented communities in media, and will include their take on the conversation surrounding inclusion in the entertainment industry.

The Creators Lounge is open to all Summit pass holders, NALIP members and non-pass holders!
Attendee’s are welcome to network, visit sponsor activations, and explore career opportunities, diversity programs, and initiatives. The Lounge will also host select screenings, panels and special activities!
All great ideas need a great beginning. We all come up with stories that we know would be perfect for TV, but don't know where to begin. What does it take to put together a pilot? These panelists will delve into what it takes to write, produce, and cast the first episode of a successful show.
It is imperative for children to see themselves represented in mainstream media, as this has a relevant effect on the way they develop and take on the world. As representation in animation matters now more than ever, this panel will discuss the importance of creating fully fleshed out, dimensional, inspiring characters that remind audiences of themselves and show them it is okay to embrace what makes them unique.
As an independent filmmaker, you have to be ready for anything, from abrupt location changes to budget cuts. These indie filmmakers know their way around the system and have used their creative lenses to bring diverse stories to light. This panel will feature a discussion on how these filmmakers found a platform through independent film and how their careers have developed along with the industry.
Ever wonder what being a producer entails? Check out NALIP's Producers Master Class, the second half of our Saturday Keynote Luncheon! This session brings together renowned producers who will share their valuable insight on what it takes to put together a production from conception to creation. They will cover topics ranging from their production workflow, building relationships, how the role of the producer has changed over the years, and strategic tips, among other resources. You do not want to miss this!

Leveraging the premiere of ABC’s Grand Hotel and our new Launchpad initiative to strengthen our pipeline of diverse creative leaders, this Disney hosted panel will ask the Latinx leaders from across the enterprise to share their career pathways, and the efforts they have made to use their roles as leaders to increase Latinx inclusion and influence in the industry. The panel will be for emerging creatives who are interested in exploring pathways across the Disney creative community.

As the Latinx community demand more representation in film and television, a new wave of Latinx narratives in the entertainment industry are being produced. New content is focusing on a community that have not primarily been told and expanding narratives that have been created. This panel provides a space for writers and producers to discuss how bicultural/bilingual experiences in the media are on the rise and go beyond stereotyping Latinx talent and using their full potential to tell stories that are long overdue.
With the recent success of Wonder Woman and Black Panther, the call for diverse heroes is echoing at the box office. These writers and producers are taking the initiative to create and deliver this generation's heroes.
